Role

The role of this position is to manufacture metal products using machines that employ lasers and computerized equipment. It is important that someone in this position always pays attention to the machine to ensure that it is working properly. They are responsible for the daily setup and operation of one or more CNC cutting machines. They will also assist other CNC operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, part cleaning, and material staging.

Responsibilities

Responsible for Set up, operating, shut down procedures, and maintaining CNC lasers to produce parts using setup instructions, shop orders, and prints
Facilitate work-order paper flow in accordance with company quality standards
Download laser programs and modify them, as needed, to optimize performance and part yield
Locates and verifies material required to produce parts per shop order, may recommend material sheet change to optimize part yield or to take advantage of drop-off material
Enters machine settings for laser cutting operation to ensure correct lens, nozzle, assist gases, and laser head are in place
Monitors equipment performance throughout the cycle to ensure optimal operation of laser and reports to supervisor any maintenance needs
Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
Inspects and measures parts to maintain quality records including verifying set-up piece and submission to Quality of 1st article for inspection or other required quality procedures
Observes levels of assist gasses, changes tanks as required, and recommends supply requirements for daily production
Deburrs parts or performs other secondary operations during the machine cycle, when needed
Stack or load finished items on palates and route to correct next routing step departments
Confer with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions or production errors or to obtain approval to continue production.
Implement changes to machine programs, and enter new specifications, using computers
Set up future jobs while machines are operating.
Clean machines, tooling, or parts, using solvents or solutions and rags.
Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Stage raw materials at each work center for the day’s production
Load and unload machines
Maintain daily dust collector service and associated logbook in assigned areas and report equipment deficiencies
Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by the scheduling department.
Assist in loading and unloading team members’ machines when production requires additional manpower to maintain throughput
Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufacturer machine recommendations.
Perform some machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance
Make sure management is aware of any inventory items needed to reorder to maintain the operation of the machine
Other duties assigned by the Lead/Supervisor or Management


Expectations

The role of this position is to know how to operate and set up machines. They ensure efficiency and correct operation of the machine. Whenever the machine malfunctions, they are able to bring it back into working order by using resources available to them. They make fast, accurate decisions relating to the production process and equipment. They should understand the details of the product to be manufactured, such as the product size and use. Quality standards must be strictly adhered to, so attention to detail is extremely important. A laser machine operator may frequently use a chart to perform routine checks and maintenance on machines to make sure they are always in working order. Attention to time constraints is also important, as projects need to be completed in a timely and quality manner.

Role

As a Welder you will be responsible for performing all position welding on products in accordance with code requirements, alignment, and dimensional specifications, working from drawings, specifications and/or material specification codes, selecting welding procedures and techniques best suited to the type of work and materials involved to obtain proper penetrations, fusion and strength, offset distortion and maintain alignment, using MIG, TIG, and plasma cutting equipment. Material types will include various grades and surface finishes of metals.

You are responsible for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings until the desired specifications are met. You are always trying to improve the accuracy and efficiency of programs for part production. This position is essential to ensure the success of the company.

Qualifications

2+ years of 3 and 4 axis machine experience is required
MasterCam X experience preferred- will train
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to inspect parts with various measuring tools
Must have good manual dexterity

Responsibilities

Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints
Use computer software (Mastercam) to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
Design and aid in the fabrication of fixturing for parts of varying complexity
Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
Setup, and operate a variety of CNC equipment to produce high-precision components using engineering drawings and specifications.
Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates
Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly
Troubleshoot and resolve problems during the manufacturing process
Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening
Train operator to properly carry out programs
Understand and have functional use of CNC code and CNC programming
Setting machine origins in accordance with the set-up instructions
Machine part dimensions to maintain close tolerances with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelism
Setting and loading all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobs
Setting up fixture components for jobs that require CNC Machining
G & M code fluency and ability to edit programs
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and other staff

Continues to lead process improvement, process development, and productivity improvement efforts.

Role

In this role, you will read blueprints or technical drawings and make adjustments for each job. You need to be able to read a tape measure and perform basic math to set stops and guides to the specified length of each job. While you operate the machine, it is important to look for any defects or issues.

Role:

A Press brake operator is responsible for operating the machines and fabricating structural steel to produce a quality product. A brake operator requires mechanical skills, attention to detail, physical stamina, math skills to measure materials, and the ability to maintain and repair machines in a time-sensitive environment. In this role, you may inspect blueprints for a project, set up your machine, perform regular maintenance, inspect metal while shaping it, and adjust as needed. They often monitor supply levels, check the final products to ensure they are free of defects, and ensure work areas are clean and organized. Areas with active press brakes can be loud, so operators often wear personal protective equipment to minimize risks.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints/plans for a final product, making relevant adjustments to the machines, and inspecting the final product after production.
Keep maintenance of press brakes, paying attention to potential defects, and performing periodic checks.
Ensure that sufficient materials are provided
Read blueprints from designers and engineers
Program your machine to fit the design
Measure the final product to ensure uniformity

Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available.

Operation of the machining centers and set-ups would be done by selecting and installing tooling, updating fixturing, and pulling CNC machining programs. This position will communicate daily on the statuses of jobs. They will work with the shop floor leads and office personnel to ensure jobs are completed on time.
