Mark your calendar for the 41st annual THRESHING BEE! SATURDAY & SUNDAY, JULY 21 and 22, 2018 Threshing Bee Grounds & City Park, Mankato, Kansas The first Antique Farm Machinery Show & Threshing Bee in Jewell County was held in 1978. The Historical Society is pleased to offer this summer opportunity for folks of all ages to catch a glimpse of “how things were done” in years past on Kansas farms and maybe even get some “hands on” experience! As one strolls through the grounds, it is obvious that the Bee has become a venue for family get-togethers. Grandchildren, even great-grandchildren, of the first folks who attended can be seen having free reign as they participate in the events planned for their age group. Streams of knowledge can be felt passing between avid tractor collectors and from the older generation to the younger set. Mark your calendars now to attend the Threshing Bee! Take advantage of the opportunity to gather in Jewell County to participate in the events planned for the weekend, meet up with family and friends, and have a great time enjoying our big blue sky! If you have questions, call Hooley Alcorn at 785/378-3055, Roger Fedde at 785/786-3337, or Leon Boden at 785/786-3771. ALL EXHIBITORS OF ANTIQUE TRACTORS, FARM MACHINERY, GAS ENGINES, AND CLASSIC VEHICLES ARE WELCOME! Threshing Bee activities include: antique tractor pull, kiddie tractor pull (Saturday only), musical entertainment, chainsaw carver, working blacksmith shop, crosscut saw contest, horseshoeing car show, working sawmill, wheat threshing, corn shelling, straw baling, parade, craft/flea market booths, food, kids’ corn tank, and lots of other fun! http://jewellcountyhistory.com/3736.html |

Our Alumni Committee is reaching out to all hospitals, school districts and media outlets, and elected officials within our district, to participate in the debate by providing questions that address the issues most important to you and those you represent.
The debate will begin with opening statements from each candidate, followed by (4) 20 minute segments highlighting the topics of KS Economy, Health Care, Education and an Open/Other category.
We are hopeful that those within the district will be as excited about this opportunity as we are. We value and need your voices to be heard.
